Are you looking for a powerful, high-performance vape? Storz & Bickel manufactures some of the best devices on the market. The Mighty is the flagship portable vape from this leading brand, and it’s available in two models, the original Mighty and the newly released Mighty+.
These vapes are portable, but they are a step above your pocket-sized vape. You get better vapour production than pocket-sized models, with more capacity, better temperature control, and huge cloud production.
So, do you go with the Mighty or the Mighty+? Which is the right device to enhance your vaping experience? Let’s take a deep dive into the specs and performance of both devices to help you settle on the right model for your next vaping session.

Straight to the Point – Which is the Right Vaping Device for Me?
If you’re looking for a more affordable device, the Mighty is the best option. You get great cloud production for huge rips and all the accessories you need.
The Mighty+ is worth the extra money if you have the budget. You get a faster heating time, USB-C charging, and an easy to maintain bowl.
Mighty vs Mighty+ – Unboxing
It’s interesting to note that the original Mighty comes with more accessories than the Mighty+. Both models come with spare O-rings and a cleaning brush. However, the Mighty gives you a loading tool, grinder, and mesh pad for your concentrates.
The mighty offers you a complete vaping solution for your favourite legal dry herbs and concentrates. If you’re new to vaping, then the extras in the Mighty kits save you a decent amount of money.
Mighty vs Mighty+ – Grip Fins with Orange Accents
Both the mighty and the Mighty+ come with a similar chassis design. The fins on the sides of the device allow for an easy grip on the vaporizer. However, the Mighty+ has a more curve form factor, with a sleeker look.
The redesign of the Mighty+ also makes it easier to hold during your session. The fins on the Mighty are straight and flat. With the Mighty+, they curve inwards to the chassis, providing you with two channels that are easy to grip.
When it comes to aesthetics, the Mighty+ comes with attractive bright orange accents. They feature on the logo and buttons, making it easy to see on the table when dealing with the effects of your legal herbs. The original model features cursive “Mighty” branding on top of the cooling unit changes the design to the Storz & Bickel logo.
Mighty vs Mighty+ – Charging Times
Apart from the looks and use, these devices are very different, offering unique user experiences. The Mighty+ upgrades the original with USB-C charging. You get fast charging times compared to the original, with the fast-charger helping the Mighty+ charge to full capacity from flat in just 2-hours.
You can expect 90-minutes of run time from a single charge. The Plus also features the new “super-charge” function, allowing you to charge the battery from flat to 80% in just 40-minutes for on-the-go vaping. You also get compatibility with any USB-C charger or charging port.
In contrast, the original Mighty gives you the same 2-hour charge time and 90-minute run time. However, it doesn’t offer the supercharger function. If it’s flat, you’ll need to plug it into the charger to get power for your session.
The only issue is that the Supercharger for the Mighty+ comes as an optional extra, so you’ll have to fork out more money. However, if you’re a heavy user, it’s worth the investment. Like the Mighty, the Plus comes with pass through charging, allowing you to plug the vape in for use when the battery is dead.
However, we don’t recommend pass-through charging for either device. It wears out the battery fast, causing the need for early replacement. So, if you need the extra power, we recommend going with the Mighty+ and the supercharger unit.
Mighty vs Mighty+ – Display and Interface
Both models feature an impressive OLED. However, we feel the Mighty+ offers you a slightly brighter display, and that’s important when vaping in the sunlight, making the display outputs more visible than the original Mighty.
Some original Mighty users state that the display tends to fade after a year of use, but that doesn’t seem to be a problem with the Mighty+. Both devices offer a user-friendly interface with similar temperature and session controls.
Mighty vs Mighty+ – Ceramic Oven
The Mighty+ is the better choice if you’re looking for fast heating times. The original model took up to 90-seconds to reach temperature. In contrast, the Plus model gets the bowl ready for vaping in under 60-seconds.
The Mighty+ comes with an updated ceramic coating on the bowl, making it easier to clean than the original aluminium model. The ceramic won’t affect the vapour taste, and it contains no harmful PTFE in the non-stick coating.
The Mighty+ bowl comes with a similar black finish to the new Volcano Hybrid. Storz & Bickel reckon it’s more durable and robust than the bowl on the original Mighty.
Mighty vs Mighty+ – Medical Grade UL Certified Device
The Mighty+ is the first legal dry herb vaporizer to receive a UL certification. That means it’s officially a medical-grade device and suitable for medical users. No other vape outside of Storz & Bickel offers you UL certification, and we think that’s a pretty big deal.
Mighty vs Mighty+ – Head-to-Head Comparison
Suppose you own the Mighty and purchase the Mighty+. In that case, the chances are that you’ll notice a very faint difference between the vapour quality. It’s barely noticeable, and both models offer excellent cloud production and terpene flavour.
However, the biggest difference comes in using the device when you’re out on the town. The faster heating time on the Mighty+ makes a big difference to the portable vape experience. You can pass the device around to your mates without a session taking forever while you wait for the bowl to reach temperature.
We also notice that the Mighty+ retains its fast heating time, even as the battery drains. With the Mighty, we find that the heating time starts to increase after you pass the 50% remaining mark. With 5% battery remaining on the Plus, you’ll still get a faster heating time than a fully-charged Mighty.
The faster charging times on the Mighty+ courtesy of the Supercharger make it a must for anyone that enjoys having a session with their mates. If power is a problem for you, then the Mighty+, with the addition of the Supercharger, resolves these issues.
The controls are exactly the same on both devices, and you get the same grind, load, and hit with both the Mighty and Mighty+.
The Only Drawback – The Wobbly Base
The Mighty range from Storz & Bickel is a premium portable vape offering you peak performance on the road. Sure, it’s not a pocket-sized model, but it’s easy to carry anywhere you go. Toss it in your backpack, and you’re ready for the road.
However, even the best devices have their flaws. Both the Mighty and Mighty+ have a similar base. However, the original Mighty featured two small rubber feet. Many users compla8ined about how the vape would fall over when loading the oven, resulting in herb spilling out of the bowl.
The Mighty+ comes with slightly larger feet. The design of the base makes the Mighty+ tilt slightly forward. When you reverse the stir stool, you’ll find the oversized feet prevent it from falling forward. We also feel there is more stability in the device’s rear when standing compared to the original.
However, both designs are somewhat silly. We feel Storz & Bickel would have done better by just using the same flat base design as the Crafty+ vaporizer. We have no idea why they decided to go the route of the feet, but we’re not engineers.
Mighty vs Mighty+ – Is the Mighty+ worth the Upgrade for Mighty Owners?
So, if you own the Mighty, is it worth upgrading to the new Mighty+? The reality is that if your Mighty is still going strong, then there’s no reason to spend the extra money on the new model.
However, if you’re considering your first vape purchase, we feel it’s well worth the extra $ for the Mighty+ and the Supercharger. It’s also the preferred model for heavier users.
The faster heating time, non-stick ceramic bowl and USB-C charging make it the superior choice for your next vaping session.
